About CLFC Healthcare & Communications
Healthcare is healing. It is the physician who diagnoses the condition that has stolen a patient’s quality of life. It is the nurse who monitors vital signs through the critical hours of recovery. It is the medical expert whose testimony ensures a veteran receives the disability rating their service earned. Healthcare is the fundamental commitment of a society to care for its members when they are most vulnerable.
The need for healthcare services has never been greater. Federal agencies require qualified physicians to evaluate disability claims. Veterans deserve clinicians who understand military service and its lasting impacts. Healthcare facilities need reliable staffing to maintain continuity of care. Across every sector, the demand for qualified healthcare professionals continues to grow, and the consequences of unmet need fall on those least able to bear them: the patients, the claimants, the veterans, the families waiting for answers.
Yet even the most skilled healthcare professional cannot heal what they cannot understand. This is why communications is essential.
The physician who cannot communicate with the patient cannot accurately diagnose. The evaluator who cannot understand the veteran’s full experience cannot properly document the claim. The nurse who cannot explain the treatment plan cannot ensure compliance. In every healthcare encounter, communication is not separate from care. Communication is the bridge that makes care possible.
CLFC Healthcare & Communications exists at this intersection. We are a healthcare company that recognized a fundamental truth: healthcare without communication is incomplete. This recognition shaped who we are, how we operate, and why we place healthcare first in our name and in our mission.
Our Story
CLFC Healthcare & Communications began as a healthcare services company, founded on the conviction that quality healthcare professionals could transform outcomes for the individuals and agencies we serve. We built our organization around the critical need for qualified physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals who could deliver care with excellence and integrity.
As we grew, we encountered a reality that reshaped our understanding of healthcare delivery: the best clinical expertise in the world means nothing if it cannot be communicated. We watched Deaf patients struggle to understand diagnoses. We saw Limited English Proficient families unable to navigate healthcare systems. We witnessed veterans whose experiences could not be fully captured because language created barriers between their truth and the documentation that would determine their futures.
This realization did not change our identity. It completed it. We expanded into American Sign Language interpretation, Certified Deaf Interpretation, and spoken language services not as a departure from healthcare, but as its natural fulfillment. We became CLFC Healthcare & Communications because we understood that these are not two separate businesses. They are two dimensions of a single mission: ensuring that every individual receives care they can understand and participate in fully.
Today, CLFC Healthcare & Communications operates as a certified Small Disadvantaged Business headquartered in Chicago, with a nationwide network of over 300 credentialed professionals. We have earned the trust of federal agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Social Security Administration. We have delivered more than $28 million in cumulative contract value. We have built relationships that span more than a decade of continuous federal service.
Our Mission
To deliver healthcare excellence and bridge the communication gap, ensuring that every individual receives care, consideration, and fair treatment regardless of the language they speak or the barriers they face.

Rich Holmes, Chief Executive Officer
Rich Holmes founded CLFC Healthcare & Communications on the conviction that quality healthcare delivery requires both clinical excellence and effective communication. Under his leadership, CLFC has grown from a healthcare services company to a comprehensive healthcare and communications organization serving multiple federal agencies.
“Healthcare is healing, but healing requires understanding. We built CLFC on the recognition that the best clinical expertise means nothing if it cannot be communicated. Every physician we credential, every interpreter we deploy, every professional we staff represents our commitment to ensuring that healthcare is complete, that communication bridges every gap, and that the people we serve receive both care and understanding.”
